Superfast fibre broadband

What do others think about it?

The rollout is well underway and some businesses are already making the most of their new superfast fibre broadband connection. Find out what it means to them below.

Superfast broadband has transformed what the
pub can offer

Michael and Sheila Owen

"We are now the first superfast pub in Cornwall and because we offer free wi-fi to our customers, people can experience superfast broadband first hand while enjoying a pint of real ale! Our customers have been blown away by it. They can't believe the difference superfast broadband makes to what they can see and do on their mobile phones, for example."

The speeds are staggering. I am getting 38Mbit/s download and 8Mbit/s upload. This is fantastic and a real game-changer

Jonathan Davies

"My business provides top quality interactive digital solutions, with a particular focus on iPhone apps and eCommerce. For both, it is essential that I have a reliable and fast connection. The upload speeds are particularly important to me as I typically send files with high resolution images or large eCommerce databases. I am expecting the use of video on the internet to increase as more people get connected to superfast broadband and I plan to develop this market. Having the advantage of superfast ahead of many of my competitors elsewhere in the UK will give me a competitive edge as I look to exploit this fantastic opportunity.”

Jonathan Davies, director, LinedUp

Superfast is saving time and opening up new opportunities

Tim Ley

"Superfast means we are now starting to test high definition audio streaming and we are right at the vanguard as one of the very first local radio stations in the UK to trial this new technology. Superfast has also been the springboard for developing a brand new iPhone and iPad application for Atlantic FM. This will have synergy with whatever is on the radio station, so it will lead to a more interactive experience for the listener. Superfast broadband has expanded what we can do and put us at the forefront of technological development within the radio industry."

Superfast broadband has helped us save over £1,000 a month in call costs!

Conor Quinn

"We got fibre broadband in quite recently but it's made dramatic changes to our business already. We get 40Mbps which means we have been able to move all our customer calls onto IP. We provide service and repairs for a range of household appliances, and being able to call our customers via the internet will save us £1,000 a month in call costs. That's an incredible change to be able to make to our business in the current environment!"

Providing the experience that customers now expect

Chapter Arts Centre

Chapter Arts Centre has estimated that it will save an estimated £1,000 a year in its back office simply by switching to superfast fibre broadband. As a result of having free unlimited and secure wi-fi in the café, customers are staying longer and spending more as more people can use it as a base for remote working. The centre can now also stream content over the internet, which opens opportunities for attracting new audiences. With the new fibre broadband line, live sports, films, shows, events etc. can all be streamed without interruption.
